Prepare – Hope is Not a Strategy

“In a house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has.”

Proverbs 21:20

My late father was a man ahead of his time. Many of the things which are coming to pass he predicted even when I was a little girl. Even some of the most bizarre occurrences today, he anticipated decades ago.

In the last several years of his life he became a bona-fide prepper. One year for Christmas, he gave all us kids gas masks. He and my mom prepped food, treated water, supplies.

And I think now of how intolerable (and yet delightful!) his smugness would be that he had not been wrong, and his preparedness had been warranted.

It is time to prepare. Begin storing food. Planning for water. Cleaning products. Medical equipment. Cash currency and alternatives to currency. Perhaps a place to go. Tradeable commodities (salt, ammo, silver, etc).

My personal preference is to invest in things that, if not needed in emergency can still be useful in normal life. I’ve stocked up on instant mashed potatoes, rice, beans, jerky. All things I can eat anyway if my preparedness proves to be unnecessary.

But gas in some places has topped $7/gallon, and the national average is at historic highs. I’ve talked to people who respond to that saying, “I just won’t drive as much and it’ll be fine.” How do you think your food gets into the store? Or clothes and other necessities. As if we aren’t already struggling with record inflation, it is going to get worse.

We need to prepare. Share ideas on preparing. Work within our trusted circles to ensure we have each other’s back in terms of meeting needs. Ensuring we have means of communication.

If we prepare and it turns out to be unnecessary there is no major downside. If you don’t prepare, the cost is enormous. Please shut off the mainstream media. Please plug into truthful sources of information such as Russel Brand’s YouTube channel, JP Sears, or InfoWars. Stop worrying about being labeled a conspiracy theorist and open your eyes to the chaos around you, be educated, be prepared and share truth with others.

Truth is going to win. Love is going to win. God is going to win. But it might not happen this week, and we need to be strong, be courageous and be prepared until that day comes.

“A prudent person takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.”

Proverbs 27:12
