Freedom

I’m watching the livestream of the unfolding situation on the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor, Ontario. Watching the government standing armed against its people.

The government has armored vehicles, weapons, men standing armed on a roof – against families with children with nothing but flags and hockey sticks.

But it isn’t within this government’s power to grant freedom to these people. Freedom isn’t given by the government. It can only be given away by the people.

Freedom is our natural state. It is the inherent spirit God gave us. It is not for government to grant to us like some benevolent genie. The government doesn’t grant us our breath, and they don’t grant us our freedom.

Good government, such as it even exists, may protect freedom. Bad government will seek to force us to hand it over. But freedom is not within their gift. It is ours.

If you have to show an ID to buy food, go to movies, get gas, go to restaurants, that isn’t freedom. It’s some sick bureaucratic communism.

There are dozens of tactics to try to stamp out freedom, but the fire of the spirit within cannot be extinguished. Freedom exists within the human spirit, and will always prevail.
